Interacción contextual entre el antropomorfismo y el juego de palabras en dos películas animadas y sus doblajes al español latinoamericano

Abstract

Diversos estudios sobre traducción audiovisual abordan el juego de palabras y el humor verbal en películas animadas, enfocándose en la adaptación de estructuras lingüísticas a distintos idiomas con sus respectivas cargas culturales y pragmáticas. No obstante, es necesario seguir explorando la interacción entre los elementos visuales y lingüísticos, especialmente cuando el antropomorfismo es un elemento central. Por ello, se analizó el juego de palabras y su interacción contextual con el antropomorfismo en las películas Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009) y Zootopia (2016) y sus doblajes al español latinoamericano. Para este estudio cualitativo, se utilizaron técnicas de producción de datos. Primero, se crearon cuatro corpus con segmentos de bromas sobre animales de las versiones originales y sus doblajes. Segundo, se estructuró una matriz contrastiva enfocada en categorías específicas. Por último, se realizó el análisis de contenido y la creación del libro de códigos. Los resultados muestran que el juego de palabras contribuye a la caracterización de los personajes y representan aspectos socioculturales, mientras que el antropomorfismo favorece el humor y la proyección de emociones, donde se presentan críticas sociales a través del humor negro. En cuanto al doblaje, se adaptan elementos para que el humor y las implicaturas culturales conecten con el público latinoamericano, manteniendo la concordancia entre las imágenes y el contexto, aunque esto resulte en la pérdida del humor o juego de palabras. Se concluye que la interacción entre el juego de palabras y el antropomorfismo en ambas películas es compleja y multifuncional.

Several existing studies focus on the translation of wordplay and verbal humor in animated movies, specifically on the translation of linguistic structures to different languages with their respective cultural references and pragmatic components. However, it is relevant to continue exploring the interaction between visual and linguistic elements when interacting with anthropomorphism as the central element in animated films. Therefore, this study analyzes wordplay and its interaction with anthropomorphism in the films Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009) and Zootopia (2016) and their Latin American Spanish dubbing. Data collection techniques were used for this qualitative study. First, four corpus were created with segments of jokes about animals from the original version in English and their dubbing. Second, a contrastive analysis table focused on three categories (type of wordplay, translation technique, type of humor) was structured. Finally, a content analysis was made to create a code book (coding). Results showed that wordplay contributes to the character description and representation of sociocultural aspects, while anthropomorphism favors humor and the projection of emotions, where social criticism is presented through black humor. Regarding the dubbing, elements are adapted so that the humor and cultural implications connect with the Latin American audience, maintaining consistency between the images and the context, even if this results in the loss of humor or wordplay. In conclusion, the interaction between wordplay and anthropomorphism in both audiovisual productions is complex and multifunctional.
