Determinants of the performance of sustainable sovereign bonds in PeruAbstract
Sustainable and green sovereign bonds are relatively new debt instruments issued to finance projects with social and environmental impact. This study will focus on analyzing the factors that impact the performance and liquidity of sustainable and green sovereign bonds in the Latin American Integrated Market (MILA). The sustainable and green sovereign bond market maintained sustained growth until 2022. However, from 2023 to 2025, the number of bonds issued decreased. The performance of the first bonds issued in MILA countries showed similar fluctuations. The literature review indicates that sustainable sovereign bonds are influenced by economic prospects, financial market performance, and the performance of conventional sovereign bonds.
