Portafolio de la experiencia de la interna de medicina Annette Camila Rocha Viacava durante el internado médico en el período enero a diciembre del 2025 en un hospital y centro materno infantil en Lima

Abstract

El internado médico constituye última etapa de la formación del estudiante de medicina de pregrado. Durante este periodo se realizan las prácticas preprofesionales, cuyo fin es integrar y aplicar los conocimientos obtenidos de los 6 años previos de la carrera, además de aprender de la experiencia de otros profesionales y desarrollar nuevas habilidades. Tuve la oportunidad de realizar el internado en el Hospital María Auxiliadora (HAMA) y Centro Materno Infantil Manuel Barreto (CMI Manuel Barreto), donde roté por los distintos servicios establecidos, enfrentando un amplio espectro de casuística. Objetivo: describir los casos clínicos durante el internado médico, resaltando los aprendizajes significativos que contribuyeron a mi experiencia formativa. Metodología: se desarrolló un trabajo descriptivo con la selección de casos clínicos por conveniencia, usando como criterio de selección a aquellos que contribuyeron a un aprendizaje significativo durante el internado médico en el HAMA y CMI Manuel Barreto Resultados principales o hallazgos: se describieron 30 casos clínicos utilizando herramientas de análisis descriptivo. Esta revisión consta de los aprendizajes más significativos y relevantes obtenidos durante el internado médico. Conclusiones: el internado medico es una etapa crucial y transicional en la formación estudiante, marcando el paso hacia el ejercicio profesional. La experiencia en el HAMA y CMI represento un entorno exigente y enriquecedor, que me permitió consolidar competencias clínicas, éticas y humanísticas. La exposición frecuente a pacientes reforzo la compresión de que la atención debe ser integral, considerando tanto la enfermedad como el contexto del paciente. Esta experiencia reafirmó mi compromiso con la medicina responsable, ética, humanizada y competente.

The medical internship represents the final stage of undergraduate medical education. During this period, students undertake pre-professional clinical training aimed at integrating and applying the knowledge acquired over the previous six years of study, while also learning from the experience of other professionals and developing new clinical skills. I had the opportunity to complete my internship at Hospital María Auxiliadora (HAMA) and the Maternal and Child Center Manuel Barreto (CMI Manuel Barreto), where I rotated through various established departments and was exposed to a wide spectrum of clinical cases. Objective: To describe the clinical cases encountered during the medical internship, highlighting the significant learning experiences that contributed to my formative development. Methodology: A descriptive study was conducted, selecting clinical cases through convenience sampling based on their contribution to significant learning experiences during the internship at HAMA and CMI Manuel Barreto.Main results or findings: Thirty clinical cases were described using descriptive analytical tools. The report summarizes the most relevant and meaningful lessons learned throughout the medical internship. Conclusions: The medical internship is a crucial and transitional stage in medical education, marking the progression toward professional practice. The experience at HAMA and CMI provided a demanding and enriching environment that allowed me to consolidate clinical, ethical, and humanistic competencies. Frequent patient exposure reinforced the understanding that healthcare must be comprehensive, addressing not only the disease but also the patient’s personal and social context. This experience reaffirmed my commitment to practicing medicine that is responsible, ethical, human-centered, and competent.
