This research addresses the population of young people who have difficulties enjoying their activities and maintaining a positive image of themselves. This problem is visible even in those who practice physical-sports activity, which is why it was proposed to understand the link between the ability to enjoy (gaudibility) and self-concept in young people who attend gyms in Apurímac. The study responded to the need to understand how the ability to enjoy (gaudibility) impacts the perception that young people have about themselves in different areas. A non-experimental method was used with a simple correlational scope. The sample was made up of 269 young people between the ages of 18 and 25 (128 men and 141 women) who do physical activity in gyms. These evaluation instruments were used: the Gaudibility Scale together with the Self-Concept Questionnaire Form 5 (AF5). The findings showed that there is a significant association between gaudibility and the different dimensions of self-concept (academic, social, physical, family, with the exception of emotional self-concept). Likewise, statistically significant differences were evident in the levels corresponding to gaudibility and self-concept according to sex. The study's conclusions support the hypothesis that greater gaudibility is associated with a more positive self-concept, which has important implications for the design of interventions aimed at emotional well-being and self-esteem in physically active young populations.
