Psychometric Evidence of the Scale of Attitudes Towards people with Disabilities in employees of financial institutions in South LimaAbstract
The present research aimed to analyze the psychometric properties of the Attitudes Toward Persons with Disabilities Scale (EAPD) developed by Verdugo et al. (1994) in financial institution workers in South Lima. This study was instrumental and used a non-probability convenience sampling, forming a sample of 200 workers (49.5% women and 50.5% men) between 20 and 47 years old (M = 32.2; SD = 8.4), from five different financial institutions, located in different districts of South Lima. The most relevant findings were derived from the confirmatory factor analysis, in which three models were evaluated. The third model had a two-dimensional structure with acceptable fit indices (x² = 44.706; gl = 24; CFI = .983; TLI = .974; SRMR = .061; RMSEA = .066). For reliability, the Omega coefficient was used, yielding acceptable values of .70 and .72. It is concluded that further studies are needed with the same instrument and in the same population to strengthen the evidence of validity. Furthermore, the results of the third model should be interpreted with caution.
