La optimización del sistema de control de costos y su impacto en la rentabilidad de la empresa FIRE RISK & MECHANICAL ENGINEERING CONSULTORS S.A.C. del año 2024

Abstract

En los últimos años, el sector de servicios técnicos vinculados a la prevención de riesgos patrimoniales y la ingeniería mecánica ha enfrentado retos significativos debido a la desaceleración económica y a la postergación de inversiones en infraestructura preventiva. En ese escenario, empresas como FIRE RISK & MECHANICAL ENGINEERING CONSULTORS S.A.C. (FRMEC) han visto afectada su rentabilidad, lo que ha motivado la necesidad de replantear su gestión financiera. Considerando lo expuesto, el presente estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar la optimización del sistema de control de costos y su impacto en la rentabilidad de FRMEC durante el año 2024. La investigación se desarrolló bajo un enfoque cualitativo, cuyo soporte fue el análisis de los estados financieros históricos de la empresa, una entrevista al gerente general y otra al gerente de operaciones. En cuanto a los resultados, se identificó que, pese a un incremento del 40 % en las ventas en 2024, la utilidad neta cayó un 28.97 %, a causa del aumento de los gastos operativos, que pasaron del 29.88 % al 39.96 % de las ventas. Así, la falta de un centro de costos impedía un análisis detallado de la rentabilidad por servicio, lo que repercutía negativamente en la toma de decisiones; por tal razón, se propuso la implementación de un sistema contable que permitió mejorar la distribución de los recursos, lo cual permitió reducir en un 20 % los gastos críticos como viáticos y alimentación. En conclusión, la implementación de un sistema estructurado de control de costos representó una solución viable para optimizar la rentabilidad, fortalecer la eficiencia operativa y asegurar la sostenibilidad financiera de la empresa.

In recent years, the technical services sector linked to property risk prevention and mechanical engineering has faced significant challenges due to the economic slowdown and the postponement of investments in preventive infrastructure. In this scenario, companies such as FIRE RISK & MECHANICAL ENGINEERING CONSULTORS S.A.C. (FRMEC) have seen their profitability affected, which has motivated the need to rethink their financial management. Considering the above, the objective of this study was to analyze the optimization of the cost control system and its impact on FRMEC's profitability during the year 2024. The research was developed under a qualitative approach, supported by the analysis of the company's historical financial statements, an interview with the general manager and an interview with the operations manager. As for the results, it was identified that, despite a 40% increase in sales in 2024, net profit fell by 28.97%, due to the increase in operating expenses, which went from 29.88% to 39.96% of sales. Thus, the lack of a cost center prevented a detailed analysis of profitability by service, which had a negative impact on decision making; for this reason, the implementation of an accounting system was proposed to improve the distribution of resources, which allowed a 20% reduction in critical expenses such as per diem and food. In conclusion, the implementation of a structured cost control system represented a viable solution to optimize profitability, strengthen operational efficiency and ensure the company's financial sustainability.
