Implementación de una Intranet para optimizar los procesos operativos en el área de importaciones en una agencia de carga internacional de Perú

Abstract

Las agencias de cargas internacional cumplen un papel fundamental en la cadena logística internacional, al coordinar el traslado eficiente y seguro de mercancía. El estudio se enfoca en una agencia de carga ubicada en Perú que presenta deficiencias en el área operativa de importaciones que afectan la productividad y el servicio al cliente. Por lo tanto, el objetivo general fue analizar la problemática y proponer una solución tecnológica que permita optimizar e integrar los procesos y la trazabilidad de la información logística. Con un enfoque cualitativo, se realizaron entrevistas a expertos y trabajadores, se aplicó la metodología de los 5 por qué y recopiló información interna de la empresa. A partir de ello, se propusieron tres alternativas de solución frente a la problemática con el fin de mejorar la eficiencia en la operatividad e integrar las diversas áreas. Dichas alternativas fueron seleccionadas gracias a los antecedentes nacionales e internacionales, y el análisis de ventajas y desventajas los cuales justifican las elecciones. Finalmente, la implementación de un Intranet consiguió contar con respaldo no solo operativa y estratégica, sino también financieramente, demostrando su viabilidad. Esta solución permite incrementar un 30 % la eficiencia operativa, reducir un 40 % los errores documentales y mejorar la trazabilidad de las cargas. Desde el enfoque financiero, el análisis arrojó una TIR del 30 %, superando al COK y al WACC. Es así como, la propuesta no solo responde las necesidades actuales de la agencia de carga, sino también representa una solución sostenible y estratégica.

International freight forwarders play a fundamental role in the global logistics chain by coordinating the efficient and secure transportation of goods. This study focuses on a freight forwarding agency based in Peru that faces deficiencies in its import operations area, negatively impacting productivity and customer service. Therefore, the main objective was to analyze the underlying issues and propose a technological solution to optimize and integrate processes and improve the traceability of logistical information. Using a qualitative approach, interviews were conducted with experts and employees, the "5 Whys" methodology was applied, and internal company information was gathered. Based on this, three solution alternatives were proposed to address the problem, aiming to improve operational efficiency and integrate various departments. These alternatives were selected through a review of national and international precedents, along with an analysis of their advantages and disadvantages, which supported the final decisions.Finally, the implementation of an intranet platform gained support not only operationally and strategically, but also financially, demonstrating its overall viability. This solution is projected to increase operational efficiency by 30%, reduce documentation errors by 40%, and significantly enhance cargo traceability. From a financial perspective, the analysis showed an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 30%, exceeding both the Cost of Opportunity (COK) and the Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC). Thus, the proposed solution not only addresses the current needs of the freight agency but also represents a sustainable and strategic alternative
