Proposal for improving on-time order delivery at a regional disposable goods distributor in Lima, Peru using SLP, BPM, and EOQ toolsAbstract
This professional sufficiency project addresses delivery delays experienced by a disposable goods distributor in Lima. These delays are primarily attributed to inefficiencies in warehousing and inventory management. The proposed solution integrates Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) for physical distribution, Business Process Management (BPM) for process optimization, and EOQ/ROP models for inventory control. Validation of the proposal included an SLP pilot test, which resulted in a 25.6% reduction in average effort. Additionally, an Arena simulation projected an 88.56% decrease in stockouts and a 22% increase in service level. These results confirm the viability of the proposal in improving warehouse efficiency, ensuring product availability, and optimizing on-time deliveries, ultimately benefiting the competitiveness of the company under study
