Abstract

El tema para desarrollar está titulado como “Mercado de Wanchaq”, el sentido de la investigación está dirigido a apostar por un proyecto en la ciudad de Cusco, donde la idea de mercado fusiona muy de cerca al usuario local, con el turista. Siendo un punto de encuentro, y a su vez un límite urbano muy marcado, dado que del mercado hacia la Plaza de Armas se encuentra el centro histórico de la ciudad y por el otro lado, lo local. Esa fusión ya existe y debe reforzarte a través de la idea del desarrollo de mercado como equipamiento de reequilibrio urbano. Llegar a esto comprende de varias partes, empezando por la definición de mercado como tal, donde en este documento se entenderá el mercado no solo como un edificio funcional, sino como una herramienta de intercambio humano. Para esto, la comparación con tipologías alternas a este, como el supermercado, también será desarrollada, para entender el valor de cada una. Por otro lado, considerar los cambios que el mercado ha ido teniendo a lo largo del tiempo es importante, ya que nos muestra cómo este equipamiento se convierte en una respuesta directa ante el entorno y que se empiezan a considerar nuevos paquetes complementarios (gastronómicos, recreativos, culturales) a la actividad básica del mercado que es abastecer. Esto será apoyado por el desarrollo de proyectos referenciales donde se desglosará el programa y ayudarán al entendimiento del mercado contemporáneo. Así mismo, la investigación considera un estudio riguroso de lo existente, dado que el Mercado de Wanchaq, actualmente existe. El entendimiento del usuario que participa diariamente en éste es un indicador vital para detectar las actividades y el aporte cultural y recreativo que se planteará en la etapa de programación. Todo esto busca reforzar esa dinámica que actualmente existe, pero no se le da el valor como tal y en este proyecto está visto como una oportunidad de aporte a la ciudad.
