This non-experimental correlational and comparative research sought to identify the relationship between two dimensions of parenting styles, commitment and autonomy, with behavioral adaptation. In addition to comparing the variables according to region of origin. 142 adolescents from 12 to 17 years old participated, 51.4% residents of Metropolitan Lima and 48.6% reside in Pasco. The Bell Adolescent Adjustment Questionnaire and the Steinberg Parenting Styles Scale were used. As a result, a significant positive correlation was obtained in the Commitment dimension of the Parenting Styles scale with the Family, Social and Emotional dimensions of Adaptation, as well as the Autonomy dimension with the Family and Health dimensions. Furthermore, adolescents from Lima perceive a greater commitment to parenting compared to those from Pasco. In short, the greater the commitment and autonomy, the greater the adaptation of behavior.
