Portafolio de la experiencia del interno de medicina Javier Orlando Bernedo Montalvo en un hospital nacional durante el periodo de abril 2023 a enero 2024

Abstract

El internado medico es la etapa final del estudiante de medicina humana, donde ponen en práctica los conocimientos previos este se realizan actividades en un entorno clínico real bajo supervisión para corregir todos los errores posibles y así poder afianzar sus decisiones a futuro. Tiene una duración de ocho meses en hospital rotando por los servicios de cirugía, medicina interna, ginecología y pediatría y dos meses en un centro de salud de primer nivel de atención. Cada rotación disponía de un médico representante de la universidad para el apoyo dentro de la estadía y el desarrollo de actividades académicas.

Objetivo: describir los treinta casos clínicos más significativos durante la estadía en el internado médico y realizar las reflexiones y aprendizajes más significativos de cada uno.

Metodología: estudio observacional descriptivo y analítico de treinta casos recogidos del internado medico en el Hospital de Lima Este – Vitarte y Centro de Salud Bethania entre los meses de abril 2023 y enero 2024.

Resultados: los casos clínicos presentados fueron descritos con sus respectivas reflexiones y se expuso las diferentes maneras en como mejoró mi desarrollo como futuro profesional de salud.

Conclusiones: el internado medico resultó ser un período de crecimiento personal y profesional. En el hospital se desarrolla la capacidad de liderazgo en situaciones críticas, la buena comunicación y el respeto entre todo el personal de salud y durante la rotación externa se aprendió a enfocar al paciente de forma integral entendiendo su contexto social, económico y familiar. Estas enseñanzas consolidaron finalmente el perfil medico a quien aspiro ser.

The medical internship is the final stage of the medical student, where they put their previous knowledge into practice and carry out activities in a real clinical environment under supervision to correct all possible errors and thus be able to strengthen their decisions for the future. It lasts eight months in hospital, rotating through the services of surgery, internal medicine, gynecology and pediatrics, and two months in a primary health center. Each rotation had a doctor representing the university for support during the stay and the development of academic activities.

Objective: describe the thirty most significant clinical cases during the stay at the medical internship and make the most significant reflections and learnings from each one.

Methodology: descriptive and analytical observational study of thirty cases collected from the medical internship at the Lima Este Hospital - Vitarte and Bethania Health Center between the months of April 2023 and January 2024.

Results: the clinical cases presented were described with their respective reflections and the different ways in which my development as a future health professional was improved were explained.

Conclusions: the medical internship turned out to be a period of personal and professional growth. In the hospital, leadership capacity is developed in critical situations, good communication and respect among all health personnel and during the external rotation we learned to approach the patient in a comprehensive way, understanding their social, economic and family context. These teachings finally consolidated the medical profile of who I aspire to be.
