El uso de Ayahuasca para tratar la salud mental ha cobrado importancia en las últimas décadas, con base en las nuevas necesidades que se presentan en este ámbito, demostrando que tendría efectividad dentro del área de la psicología clínica. Es por ello, que se presenta esta investigación con el objetivo de describir las nuevas representaciones de la salud mental en consumidores de Ayahuasca. El proyecto es de corte cualitativo analizado a través del diseño de análisis temático, con una muestra de ocho participantes que han consumido Ayahuasca sin objetivos recreativos. En general, se halló que el consumo de Ayahuasca colabora a modificar la representación de salud mental, entendiendola como un estado relevante que está configurado por el cuidado de lo fisico, psicológico, social y espiritual, lo cual permitió cambios favorables en varias áreas, tales como el autoconocimiento, encontrar propósito en la vida y aliviar problemas psicológicos. Todo ello pudiendo tener implicancias prácticas para el paciente y el psicólogo clínico.The use of Ayahuasca to treat mental health has gained importance in recent decades, based on the new needs that arise in this area, demonstrating that it would be effective in the area of clinical psychology. For this reason, this research is presented with the objective of describing the new representations of mental health in Ayahuasca consumers. The project is of qualitative cut analyzed through the design of thematic analysis, with a sample of eight participants who have consumed Ayahuasca without recreational objectives. In general, it was found that the consumption of Ayahuasca helps to modify the representation of mental health, understanding it as a relevant state that is configured by the care of the physical, psychological, social and spiritual, which allowed favorable changes in several areas, such as self-knowledge, finding purpose in life and alleviating psychological problems. All this may have practical implications for the patient and the clinical psychologist.
