Perceptions of millennial employees in industrial companies in Metropolitan South Lima on the impact of mobbing on their quality of life during the year 2023-2024Abstract
Este estudio investigó el impacto del mobbing en la calidad de vida de empleados millennials en empresas industriales de Lima Metropolitana. Utilizando un enfoque cualitativo y un diseño de análisis temático reflexivo, se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas con 10 participantes y el análisis se llevó a cabo con el software ATLAS.ti 9.1. Los hallazgos principales revelan que los tipos de mobbing son especialmente el mobbing vertical descendente, fueron predominantes y mayoritariamente perpetrados por individuos de mayor jerarquía. Además, se identificaron diferencias generacionales en la percepción y manejo del acoso. El estudio destacó una afectación significativa en la calidad de vida de los empleados, especialmente en los aspectos físicos y psicológicos. Aunque los participantes evidenciaron impacto en una o más dimensiones de su calidad de vida, muchos no eran plenamente conscientes de la gravedad y trascendencia de estas consecuencias en los ámbitos físico, psicológico, social y ambiental. Estos resultados subrayan la urgente necesidad de aumentar la concienciación y formación sobre el mobbing en los entornos laborales, con el fin de promover un ambiente de trabajo más seguro, saludable y equitativo.This study investigated the impact of mobbing on the quality of life of millennial employees in industrial companies in Metropolitan Lima. Using a qualitative approach and a reflective thematic analysis design, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 10 participants and analysis was carried out using ATLAS.ti 9.1 software. The main findings reveal that the types of mobbing, especially downward vertical mobbing, were predominant and mostly perpetrated by higher-ranking individuals. Furthermore, generational differences were identified in the perception and management of harassment. The study highlighted a significant impact on the quality of life of employees, especially in physical and psychological aspects. Although the participants evidenced an impact on one or more dimensions of their quality of life, many were not fully aware of the severity and significance of these consequences in the physical, psychological, social and environmental spheres. These results highlight the urgent need to increase awareness and training on mobbing in work environments, in order to promote a safer, healthier and more equitable work environment.
