In recent decades, Peru has experienced an admirable trade opening, thanks to the adoption of a free-market economy and the signing of numerous trade agreements, which meant greater economic development for its inhabitants and its export business ecosystem. However, today there are agricultural products whose potential has not yet been exploited, and the question arises as to whether the signed trade agreements really any impact on the trade flows of these products have, since they were created precisely for that purpose. Therefore, the objective of this work is to determine the impact of non-tariff measures on Peruvian palm oil exports to Colombia during the period 2014-2023. The methodology used consists of a quantitative approach for which a gravitational model was used to quantify the impact of the variables considered on the trade flows of this input. Using the Poisson-Pseudo Maximum Likelihood (PPML) method run in Stata software, the results showed an R2 coefficient of 46.11%, which represents the significance level of NTMs on trade flows. The findings therefore determine that the impact of NTMs on Peruvian palm oil exports is not significant. In this sense, the signing of the Andean Community FTA does not play an important role in them, and other factors may influence them instead.
