Objective: To analyze the association between physical activity level and the perception of disability due to neck pain and low back pain among students from a Peruvian university during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methodology: Analytical cross-sectional study in a sample of 336 university students from a private university with four campuses in Lima Metropolitana. A virtual questionnaire was applied, which included the Neck Disability Index (NDI), the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), and the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) to measure the perception of disability due to neck pain, the perception of disability due to low back pain, and physical activity, respectively. Statistical analysis was performed using STATA v17.0. Results: A total of 72.92% of participants were categorized as physically active. A statistically significant association was found between occupation and the perception of disability due to neck pain (p=0.025) and to low back pain (p=0.014). It was observed that the level of physical activity was not statistically significantly associated with the perception of disability due to neck pain (aPR=1.033, 95% CI=0.81–1.30) nor with the perception of disability due to low back pain (aPR=1.056, 95% CI=0.83–1.33). Conclusion: No association was found between physical activity and the perception of disability due to neck pain and low back pain among university students during the COVID-19 pandemic in a private university in Lima.
