This thesis project arose from the need to highlight the value of Peruvian biodiversity and raise public awareness of it through an attractive and educational museum exhibition, inviting visitors to get to know it and contribute to its conservation. At present, there are few museums in Peru with this type of exhibition. In fact, the most important one is located in Lima; however, it has serious drawbacks due to its age and the limited space it has considering the exhibitions that could be displayed. During the analysis process of this research, references were taken from natural history museums worldwide to achieve design guidelines and an adequate approach to a modern and up-to-date museum, focusing on its location, size, shape and accessibility. As a result, a solution was sought for the shortcomings of the existing natural history museums in the country. According to the data collected from the analysis of the references, the museum project was decided to be located in an already consolidated cultural axis, located in a central area and easily accessible to the public. Finally, the project is based on the permeability that can be observed both inside, with the relationship between its exhibitions, and outside, with the visual and physical relationship of the building. Consequently, the museum will not only benefit from its attractiveness, but will also contribute new public spaces and greenspace to the city by partially being open to it.
