Propuesta de mejora para aumentar el nivel de servicio de un operador logístico mediante Slotting, SLP y 5S

Abstract

Este trabajo de investigación propone una mejora para incrementar el nivel de servicio de un operador logístico, aplicando herramientas orientadas a optimizar operaciones y elevar la satisfacción del cliente. La primera herramienta es el Slotting, que organiza productos mediante la clasificación ABC según demanda y valor, asignando ubicaciones preferenciales para optimizar el flujo de trabajo y reducir tiempos de manipulación, mejorando así la eficiencia operativa. La segunda herramienta es la planificación sistemática del layout (SLP), que organiza estratégicamente las áreas del almacén, facilitando el flujo y reduciendo desplazamientos, lo cual incrementa la productividad. La tercera herramienta es la metodología de las 5S, que implementa un entorno ordenado y limpio mediante sus cinco pilares: clasificación, orden, limpieza, estandarización y disciplina en el lugar de trabajo, creando un ambiente seguro y eficiente. En conclusión, esta propuesta de mejora emplea las herramientas Slotting, SLP y 5S para optimizar integralmente las operaciones logísticas. Este enfoque no solo disminuye el desperdicio, sino que también aumenta la eficiencia, permitiendo responder mejor a las necesidades del cliente y elevando significativamente el nivel de servicio de la empresa.

This research work proposes an improvement to increase the service level of a logistics operator, applying tools oriented to optimize operations and increase customer satisfaction. The first tool is Slotting, which organizes products by ABC classification according to demand and value, assigning preferential locations to optimize workflow and reduce handling times, thus improving operational efficiency. The second tool is systematic layout planning (SLP), which strategically organizes warehouse areas, facilitating flow and reducing displacements, thus increasing productivity. The third tool is the 5S methodology, which implements an orderly and clean environment through its five pillars: classification, order, cleanliness, standardization and discipline in the workplace, creating a safe and efficient environment. In conclusion, this improvement proposal employs Slotting, SLP and 5S tools to comprehensively optimize logistics operations. This approach not only reduces waste, but also increases efficiency, making it possible to better respond to customer needs and significantly raising the company's service level.
