Annotated translation of the review article “Menstrual hygiene management in humanitarian emergencies: Gaps and recommendations”Abstract
La presente investigación se centra en analizar la traducción al español del artículo de revisión «Menstrual hygiene management in humanitarian emergencies: Gaps and recommendations». Se escogió este texto debido a que aporta información significativa sobre el manejo de la higiene menstrual en situaciones de emergencia y su traducción permitiría difundir los hallazgos sobre esta problemática e incentivar cambios al respecto. Para llevar a cabo este análisis, se identificaron los focos de dificultad presentes en el texto y se explicaron las soluciones planteadas para cada uno. De esta manera, el trabajo se divide en dos partes: la primera es el marco conceptual que contiene los antecedentes, conceptos clave y las categorías de análisis que se desarrollan dentro del trabajo y, la segunda, presenta el análisis extratextual, que abarca el encargo de traducción y la macroestructura, e intratextual, que aborda una revisión de los focos de dificultad léxico-semánticos, morfosintácticos y estilístico-pragmáticos.This research focuses on analyzing the Spanish translation of the review article “Menstrual hygiene management in humanitarian emergencies: Gaps and recommendations.” This text was selected because it provides significant information on menstrual hygiene management in emergency contexts and its translation would make it possible to disseminate the findings on this issue and encourage changes in this regard. In order to carry out this analysis, the difficulties present in the translation of this text were identified and the solutions proposed for each one were explained. Thus, the paper is divided into two parts: the first is the conceptual framework containing the background, key concepts and analysis criteria developed in the paper, and the second presents the extratextual analysis, which covers the translation assignment as well as the macrostructure; and the intratextual analysis, which includes a review of the lexical-semantic, morphosyntactic, and stylistic-pragmatic difficulties.
