Traducción comentada del inglés al español del artículo Wearable Digital Health Technologies for Monitoring in Cardiovascular Medicine

Abstract

La traducción médica ha ido ganando protagonismo en los últimos años, lo cual ha permitido una mayor difusión del conocimiento científico en el campo de la salud. Por su lado, el traductor médico no solo debe ser competente en ambos idiomas de trabajo, sino que debe tener un buen manejo de información y documentación para realizar un producto traslativo preciso y coherente. El objetivo de esta investigación es realizar una traducción comentada del artículo científico titulado Wearable Digital Health Technologies for Monitoring in Cardiovascular Medicine dirigido a especialistas de la cardiología y publicado por la revista The New England Journal of Medicine. Este objetivo se logrará mediante la identificación y el análisis de las dificultades a nivel léxico-semántico, morfosintáctico y estilístico-pragmático enfrentadas al momento de traducir el artículo en cuestión. Finalmente, se brindarán soluciones y estrategias para manejar estos focos de dificultad basadas en el uso de teoría y fuentes especializadas.

Medical translation has been increasing its importance in recent years, which has allowed for a greater outreach of scientific knowledge in the medical field. The medical translator must not only be competent in both working languages but must also be properly informed and documented in order to produce an accurate and coherent translational product. The aim of this paper is to provide an annotated translation of the scientific article titled Wearable Digital Health Technologies for Monitoring in Cardiovascular Medicine addressed to cardiology specialists and published by The New England Journal of Medicine. In order to achieve this objective, the lexical-semantic, morphosyntactic and stylistic-pragmatic difficulties encountered when translating the aforementioned article will be identified and analyzed. Finally, solutions and strategies based on the use of specialized theory and sources will be provided to manage these areas of difficulty.
