Structural design of an eleven-story multifamily building with prefabricated slab system through linear analysis to control floor drifts, in Lima MetropolitanaAbstract
In Peru, an accumulation of seismic energy has been detected in the interaction zone between the Nazca and South American tectonic plates, located on the central coast. This situation could trigger earthquakes with magnitudes between 8.6 and 8.8 Mw. Therefore, this condition poses a critical threat, especially to tall buildings. In this context, the main objective of this research is to conduct dynamic seismic analysis and structurally design an 11-story multifamily building with a basement, using a pre-slab system, located in the district of La Victoria. This research takes an experimental design approach, including modeling the structure using the Etabs software. This approach allows for precise calculations according to the standards set by the National Building Code (RNE). The results demonstrate compliance with national regulations. The drifts obtained in the X-X axis are 0.00663 and in the Y-Y axis are 0.00579, both values below the 0.007 limit set by Norm E.030. Additionally, structural elements were designed according to Norm E.060, applying principles of bending, compression, shear, minimum reinforcement ratio, and minimum spacing, among others. Finally, detailed plans of typical ceiling formwork and representative structural elements have been presented, completing the design and analysis process of the multifamily building structure.
