The present study aims to analyze the psychometric properties of the Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI). The sampling was intentional and consisted of 300 nurses from hospitals and clinics in Ayacucho. The validity analysis was carried out using two methods: analysis of the internal structure with confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and convergent validity. Through Confirmatory Factor Analysis, the model of four correlated factors proposed by Davis (1980) was confirmed, obtaining a good fit, χ2(71) = 181.8, p < .001, CFI = .906, RMSEA = .072, SRMR = . 060. In addition, the convergent validity analysis was carried out with the Resilience Scale (RE) that correlated with the factors of Perspective Taking and Empathic Concern. The analysis of internal consistency with the omega coefficient showed values between .51 and .72. The results support the structure proposed by Davis (1980); However, further revisions to the content of the articles are necessary taking into account the limited reliability results.
