La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo general identificar la relación que existe entre el apoyo social percibido y la insatisfacción corporal. Se utilizó un muestreo de tipo no probabilístico y por conveniencia. Se administró a 193 mujeres de 18 a 25 años residentes de varios distritos de Lima Metropolitana, los cuestionarios: Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ-14) y la Escala Multidimensional de Apoyo Social Percibido (MSPSS). Se utilizó al programa JAMOVI versión 1.2 para realizar el análisis de los resultados. Los resultados mostraron que la dimensión otros significativos presenta el mayor puntaje promedio, mientras que la dimensión amigos y familiares presentan el menor puntaje promedio. Además, los puntajes obtenidos por las participantes en el BSQ-14 fue en promedio de 46.4. Asimismo, se observó que existen correlaciones estadísticamente significativas positivas entre familia, otros significativos y la imagen corporal. Sin embargo, no se encontraron correlaciones estadísticamente significativas entre amigos y la imagen corporal. Con los resultados de este trabajo, se ha pretendido dar información que sirva como punto de partida para futuras investigaciones.The present research has the general objective to identify the relationship that exists between perceived social support and body dissatisfaction. A random sample composed of 193 women between 18 and 25 years old, residents of various districts of Metropolitan Lima, was selected. The questionnaires were administered: Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ-14) and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). The JAMOVI program version 1.2 was used to analyze the results. The results showed that the significant others dimension presents the highest average score, while the friends and family dimension presents the lowest average score. Furthermore, the scores obtained by the participants on the BSQ-14 were on average 46.4. Likewise, it was observed that there are statistically significant positive correlations between family, significant others and body image. However, no statistically significant correlations were found between friends and body image. It is concluded that there is a significant and inverse relationship between perceived social support and body dissatisfaction.
