The impact of emotional intelligence on the job performance of agency managers in banks in Metropolitan Lima, 2023Abstract
This research determined the impact of managers' emotional intelligence on their job performance in banking agencies in Lima Metropolitana in 2023. To achieve this, a measurement instrument was developed through Likert-type surveys, validated by experts, covering the dimensions of the independent variable (emotional intelligence) and the dimensions of the dependent variable (job performance). The adopted methodology is non-experimental and correlational-causal, with a quantitative and cross-sectional approach. The sample included 209 managers from the banking sector who responded to surveys using a five-point Likert scale. The main results revealed a Spearman correlation coefficient of 0.385, indicating a positive correlation between emotional intelligence and job performance. In other words, an increase in managers' emotional intelligence was observed to be positively related to optimal job performance. The study encompasses the background, theoretical framework, and literature review, along with specific definitions of variables and their dimensions. Clear objectives and hypotheses are established, and the methodology, based on surveys and quantitative analysis, is complemented with conclusions and recommendations derived from the results analyzed using the SPSS statistical software. This study provides a comprehensive understanding of the subject and contributes significantly to the field of study.
