Fake news and its impact on universitary studentsAbstract
This paper analyzes the impact of the types of fake news from the social network Twitter during the Covid 19 pandemic on the perception of Communication and Journalism students in the 10th cycle of the UPC. For this particular case, it is considered that our population is representative insofar as it is the future professionals who must know how to distinguish between the different types of fake news, as well as what their impact is on society. The approach will be qualitative and its methodology will be based on the analysis and interpretation of data collected through a questionnaire. Among the momentary conclusions (as we have not yet applied our instrument) it can be mentioned that fake news can only be understood in the context of digital journalism. Likewise, these are produced in a cultural context in which disbelief in truth and objectivity (post-truth) predominates. On the other hand, it is considered essential that Communication and Journalism students recognize the different types of fake news.
