Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS) is a temperament trait characterized by increased sensitivity to environmental and social stimuli. The objective of the research is to determine the psychometric properties of the Highly Sensitive Person Scale (HSPS) in young university students from Metropolitan Lima. 200 university students participated (63% women), with an average age of 22.2 years (SD=2.4). Through Confirmatory Factor Analysis, the unidimensional structure was verified, showing the following adjustment: (χ2=152; df=63; p<.001; CFI=.95; TLI=.93; RMSEA=.08; SRMR=.05). Furthermore, the unidimensional scale with a value of (ω = .93) has adequate reliability. In validity based on relationships with other variables, the results indicate that the Highly Sensitive Person Scale presents a positive and significant correlation with the State Anxiety dimension, but not with Trait Anxiety. It is concluded that the Highly Sensitive Person Scale has adequate psychometric properties.
