This research reveals the experiences of women victims of violence by their partners in many provinces of Cusco. For this, a qualitative study with a phenomenological design was carried out, in which information was collected through online, individual and semi-structured interviews with 9 participants, who ranged between 22 and 54 years old and came from different provinces of Cusco. The results indicated that the majority of women experienced previous episodes of violence in their childhood and adolescence. Four types of violence were found in the women evaluated: physical, psychological, sexual and economic violence. Depression, anxiety and guilt were identified as consequences of the violence experienced by the woman interviewed. However, some showed resilience to the situation individually or with psychological support. Finally, a possible normalization of violence was concluded, given the potential transgenerational transmission, as well as the influence of culture in the normalization of intimate partner violence.
