Plan de migración para actualizar el sistema de fondos mutuos del sistema operativo Windows 7 al sistema operativo Windows 10 en una empresa del sector financiero

Abstract

La migración de un sistema operativo es una tarea bastante compleja que necesita una planificación y ejecución meticulosa, dado que se deben considerar diversos factores, como el almacenamiento, los requerimientos del nuevo sistema operativo, las necesidades de los involucrados, la arquitectura, entre otros; sobre todo si se trata de una entidad financiera que maneja datos sensibles. Teniendo en cuenta lo anterior, en el presente trabajo se analizó todo lo señalado líneas arriba para el proceso de migración de Windows 7 hacia el 10 del sistema de fondos mutuos de una entidad financiera; de igual modo, se explicó el proceso que se siguió teniendo en cuenta las necesidades de los involucrados. Los resultados mostraron que los requisitos para Windows 10 son distintos a Windows 7, lo que ha generado la revisión y la elaboración cuidadosa de los módulos del sistema, tales como administración, contabilidad, inversiones, partícipes y tesorería, para evitar futuros inconvenientes a nivel de datos e interfaz de usuario. Igualmente, se validaron las distintas funcionalidades del sistema con los analistas de calidad (QA) y de proyecto, donde se garantizó el funcionamiento óptimo de cada uno de los módulos del sistema. Adicionalmente, se consideró un plan de continuidad para garantizar el correcto funcionamiento del sistema, en caso de que ocurriese cualquier incidencia, teniendo en cuenta los riesgos y las acciones de mitigación. A modo de conclusión, la migración del sistema de fondos mutuos ha sido exitosa, debido a que se identificaron los objetos, las funciones y las propiedades a migrar, así como el apoyo del área de QA y los analistas del proyecto. En efecto, esto resultó en la satisfacción de los involucrados en el proyecto.

The migration of an operating system is a complex task that requires meticulous planning and execution, since various factors must be considered such as storage, requirements of the new operating system, needs of those involved, architecture, among others; especially if it is a financial entity that handles sensitive data. In this work, everything mentioned above was analyzed for the migration process from Windows 7 to 10 of the mutual fund system of a financial institution, as well as the process that was followed taking into account the needs of those involved. The results showed that the requirements for Windows 10 are different from Windows 7, which has generated the careful review and development of the system modules, such as administration, accounting, investments, shareholders and treasury, to avoid future problems at the data level. and user interface. Likewise, the different functionalities of the system were validated with the quality analysts (QA) and project, where the optimal functioning of each of the system modules was guaranteed. Likewise, a continuity plan has been considered to guarantee the correct functioning of the system in the event of any incident, taking into account the risks and mitigation actions. In conclusion, the migration of the mutual fund system has been successful because the objects, functions and properties to be migrated were identified, and the support of the QA area and the project analysts, which resulted in the satisfaction of those involved in the project.
