The objective of the investigation was to analyze whether or not the principles of journalistic ethics: justice, truthfulness, freedom and responsibility were applied in the programs “Beto a Saber” by Beto Ortiz and “Combutters” by Phillip Butters during the pandemic when providing information related to covid-19. A qualitative methodology was carried out through the case study, 5 controversial cases were chosen that were analyzed in other studies for providing false information and other media outlets that classified them as disseminators of fake news. The results show that the ethical principle that was most transgressed was truthfulness, because there was no correct verification of sources, nor did they have a plurality of these; Likewise, its experts lacked credibility and resorted to sensationalism. The second ethical principle that these journalists violated was that of responsibility, since they did not prioritize humanitarian aid and were alarmist. Finally, they did not respect the ethical principle of justice, because they did not provide impartial information and were carried away by their judgments; nor the principle of freedom, since they reported according to their preferences and were influenced by business interests.
