The topic to be addressed in the present thesis is the descriptive and comparative study of the characteristics of the informative treatment of the protests against the government of President Dina Boluarte occurred during January 4 to 19, 2023, where the informative notes published on the website of the newspaper "El Comercio" and "La República" are compared. Both media, over the years, have maintained different ideological positions, on the other hand, the newspaper "El Comercio" has always been oriented to the right, while the newspaper "La República” to the left. In this sense, it is important to determine whether both newspapers have remained neutral in their approach to the news or whether they have incurred impartiality and bias due to their positions, because citizens deserve to receive quality and truthful information. In this way, the contribution of this investigation will be to show that both newspapers, despite being two recognized media in the country, have at some point incurred in spreading biased information.
