Abstract

La violencia contra la mujer es una problemática constante en el Perú y ha recibido más atención de los medios. El uso de la fotografía en la prensa es tan importante como la noticia en sí, pues ayuda a contextualizar la noticia, aún más en una portada. La información visual, cada vez más predominante en la sociedad, es capaz de mostrar información por sí misma. Las fotografías en la prensa son un reflejo de la conciencia de la sociedad: la manera en la que representan a la víctima o al victimario, la exposición de material íntimo, el nivel de explicitud o la cantidad de morbosidad son otra forma de contar la misma noticia. En ese sentido, el objetivo del presente trabajo consiste en observar cómo ha sido el tratamiento fotográfico del diario Perú21 en casos de violencia contra la mujer y si ha habido cambios en este.

Violence against women is a constant problem in Peru. The use of photography in the press is as important as the news itself, as it helps to contextualize the news, even more on a front page, since visual information, which is increasingly predominant in society, is capable of showing information by itself. Photographs in the press are a reflection of society's conscience: the way they represent the victim or the perpetrator, the exposure of intimate material, the level of explicitness or the amount of morbidity are another way of telling the same story. In this regard, the objective of this work is to observe how the photographic coverage of the newspaper Peru 21 has been in cases of violence against women and if there have been changes in it.
