New Market of Magdalena del MarAbstract
The project consists in the development of a New Market of Magdalena del Mar, located in said district, in Lima. The proposal is based on an existing market which is in a very bad state since it has inadequate infrastructure and facilities and insufficient for the uses that are required and does not comply with the corresponding safety standards. In addition, it does not contribute anything to the environment that is to say that it has characteristics of an architectural barrier trapping the vital and daily activity of a market between walls, missing the opportunity to connect it with the most important public spaces of the district such as Tupac Amaru Square and the pedestrian boulevard Jr José Gálvez. Therefore, this new market project proposes an adequate infrastructure for this activity and modern, where complementary uses are also included and consumer methods are merged without losing the essence and memory of the existing traditional market. Likewise, it was proposed that the building have a better connectivity with both the city and the surroundings that surround it.
