Self-Compassion, Life Satisfaction and Hope in students attending private universities in LimaAbstract
In the present study, the relationship between Self-Compassion, Life Satisfaction and Hope was investigated in response to the theoretical gap evidenced in the literature. Through non-probabilistic convenience sampling, 252 private university students from 18 to 29 years old were evaluated. The Neff Self-Compassion Scale, Satisfaction with Life Scale and Herth Hope Scale were employed for measuring the variables. Using the RStudio computer program, correlation hypothesis were confirmed (r >.51) and it was found that Hope fully mediated the relationship between Self-Compassion and Life Satisfaction (χ2 = 211.151; p =.000; CFI = 0.934; RMSEA =.077). In addition, the model presented an adequate goodness-of-fit index after bootstrap replications.
