Introducción y Objetivos: El presente estudio relacionó el estrés académico (estresores, síntomas y estrategias de afrontamiento) y la personalidad proactiva en jóvenes estudiantes universitarios. Material y método: La muestra fue de 176 jóvenes estudiantes universitarios (71% mujeres) de Lima Metropolitana con edades entre los 18 y 25 años. Se utilizaron el Inventario Sistémico Cognoscitivista para el estudio del Estrés (SISCO) y la Escala de Personalidad Proactiva (PPS). Resultados: Los resultados muestran una correlación positiva entre la personalidad proactiva y la dimensión del estrés académico correspondiente a estrategias de afrontamiento (r = .90 , p < .001). Conclusiones: Los resultados de este estudio demuestran que una mayor personalidad proactiva facilita a la persona el uso de estrategias de afrontamiento al estrés.Introduction and objectives: This study related academic stress (stressors, symptoms and coping strategies) and proactive personality in young university students. Material and method: The sample was 176 young university students (71% women) from Metropolitan Lima who also had a job. Their ages ranged from 18 to 25 years old (M = 22). The Cognitivist Systemic Inventory for the study of Stress (SISCO) and the Proactive Personality Scale (PPS) were used. Results: The results show a positive correlation between the proactive personality and one of the dimensions of academic stress that were the coping strategies (r = .90, p < .001). Conclusions: The results of this study show that a more proactive personality allows the person to use coping strategies to stress.
