Today it is relevant that every company considers extrinsic motivation as a management strategy because it leads to the employee having better job performance, generating the firm to receive better results. It should be noted that Peru is one of the countries with the highest worker turnover in Latin America, since it ranks third, exceeding 18% in relation to the average, being a relevant indicator given that it shows the low motivation of employees in their work. labor center. The objective is to determine extrinsic motivation as a management strategy in the performance of employees in the financial sector, Lima 2021. Applying a non-experimental cross-sectional design with a hypothetical-deductive methodology, as well as explanatory research with a correlational - causal and quantitative approach. To measure the estimation of the employees with respect to the two variables studied, it was decided to apply the Likert-type questionnaire taking a sample of 382 employees of the financial sector of Lima. Similarly, the confidence, trust and internal coherence of said tool was determined by analyzing the Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient, which yielded 0.916, being validated by two expert magistrates on the subject. According to the Spearman Correlation Coefficient, it shows p=0.529 and reference to the Coefficient of Determination shows R2=0.676, therefore, it follows that in the financial sector, workers denote that extrinsic motivation produces very powerful connections on job performance.es_PE
