Perceptions of directors of public institutions in Metropolitan Lima about the characteristics of pedagogical leadership, motivations and difficulties in the exercise of the managerial positionAbstract
En el Perú, de todos los directivos, un 60 % corresponde a mujeres que ejercen el rol de líderes pedagógicas en los espacios escolares. Considerando la relevancia de ese puesto, en esta investigación, nos interesa saber las percepciones de mujeres directoras respecto a las motivaciones, a las características del liderazgo y a las dificultades de su rol. Para alcanzar este objetivo, se realizó una investigación cualitativa fenomenológica. Se aplicó una entrevista semiestructurada a 5 directoras de gestión pública de Nivel Inicial de Lima Metropolitana. Como resultado de la investigación, se identificó lo siguiente. Las motivaciones de las directivas para acceder y mantenerse en el cargo son fomentar la calidad educativa y revalorizar la educación pública. Por otro lado, ellas perciben que las mujeres ejercen su labor con dedicación y que realizan varias tareas en simultáneo. Entre las dificultades, estas señalan que el cargo directivo es demandante y que se complejiza con el rol familiar, y que continuamente responden a expectativas sociales.In Peru, 60% of all managers are women who play the role of pedagogical leaders in school spaces. Considering the relevance of this position, in this research, we are interested in knowing the perceptions of women directors regarding the motivations, the characteristics of leadership and the difficulties of their role. To achieve this objective, a phenomenological qualitative research was carried out. A semi-structured interview was applied to 5 female directors of public management at the Initial Level in Metropolitan Lima. As a result of the investigation, the following was identified. The motivations of the directives to enter and remain in office are to promote educational quality and revalue public education. On the other hand, they perceive that women work with dedication and that they perform several tasks simultaneously. Among the difficulties, they point out that the management position is demanding and that it is complex with the family role, and that they continuously respond to social expectations.
