Proposal for the design of a reinforced pavement for oversized loads applying elastic methods based on deflectometric results for the Vizcachane road maintenance project - section 1Abstract
The improvement of the road infrastructure in a region is very important since it has great economic and social well-being. Therefore, it is important that the latest emerging technologies that improve their development to support their well-being are applied. The unanticipated changes in the design traffic for a road conservation project that suddenly arise when oversizing this factor in the design through the opening of previously closed mining fronts, promote the need to propose a solution that ensures the transitability and durability of the road route, in addition to the responsibilities for damage to the pavement caused by this abnormally installed traffic flow. Therefore, this investigation project has the purpose of proposing a pavement design that covers the requirements of overload, convoy transport, overpressure on the pneumatic inflation and the damages caused by using pneumatics super single by using the retro calculus method for the project of road conservation of the Vizcachane Tramo 1 highway from the progressive km 0+000 until km 5+198 in Arequipa’s Department. This reinforcement introduces the resilient module measurement of the modified mix without modifying the loading frequencies that correspond to design speed. This design of asphaltic mixture modified with polymers as part of the solution incorporates elements that give more resistance to permanent deformation, improve impermeabilization, and adherence.
