Integrated Tracking System for a Logistics Service ProviderAbstract
This thesis document presents the problem of a logistics service provider that, due to its business model, has the need to subcontract part of its transport services and thus the workers responsible for vehicle monitoring must carry out a manual process of capturing the status of the trucks in the various monitoring systems of subcontractors. In order to solve this problem, a vehicle monitoring system was developed that integrates the main monitoring systems used by the company in order to reduce the time spent capturing the status of the trucks by at least 70%. The developed system uses Robotic Process Automation technology to extract data from monitoring systems. In order to demonstrate that the system achieves the proposed objective, a pilot of the system was deployed on a virtualized server. After the execution of the pilot, it was evidenced that the system reduces the time dedicated to the work by 85.19%. This has the potential to reduce up to half a day's work for a worker.
