Efectos del slum tourism en los barrios en situación de pobreza

Abstract

El fenómeno slum tourism es un tipo de turismo cuya literatura se encuentra tomando forma y cobrando relevancia desde hace unos años. Esta tendencia se presenta en un inicio como una oportunidad de desarrollo a los barrios en situación de extrema pobreza, sin embargo, el presente estudio tiene el objetivo de presentar los efectos positivos y negativos del slum tourism en los barrios en situación de extrema pobreza. Este estudio se desarrolló usando la metodología de revisión de literatura bajo el enfoque integrador, que permitió sintetizar la información y elaborar una visión más amplia sobre el tema de investigación. En cuanto a los hallazgos, se evidencia un vacío teórico sobre el impacto del slum tourism en el aspecto ambiental, puesto que no hay estudios que evidencien el impacto real del desarrollo de esta actividad. De la misma manera, las investigaciones son escasas con respecto al impacto posterior a la pandemia del covid-19.

The slum tourism phenomenon is a type of tourism whose literature has been taking shape and gaining relevance for a few years. This trend was initially presented as a development opportunity for neighborhoods in extreme poverty, however, this study aims to present the positive and negative effects of slum tourism in neighborhoods in extreme poverty. This study was developed using the literature review methodology under the integrative approach, which allowed synthesizing the information and elaborating a broader vision on the research topic. Regarding the findings, there is a theoretical gap in the impact of slum tourism on the environmental aspect, since no studies show the real impact of the development of this activity. Similarly, research is scant regarding the post-pandemic impact of covid-19.
