Innovations in the 4 and 5 star hotel sector arising from COVID-19Abstract
A raíz del COVID-19, el sector hotelero ha tenido que cambiar e implementar innovaciones para continuar con sus actividades con normalidad, adaptándose de esta manera a este gran cambio generado por la pandemia. Sin embargo, en la actualidad se siguen implementando algunas innovaciones conforme a las nuevas exigencias de los huéspedes, ya que aún existe un porcentaje de la población que teme al contagio del COVID-19. El objetivo de esta investigación es describir las nuevas innovaciones que se están aplicando en los hoteles de 4 y 5 estrellas en distintos países. En esta investigación se aplicó la metodología de revisión literaria integradora, ya que su principal propósito es la recopilación de artículos científicos, libros y tesis. Como resultado se obtuvo que las innovaciones tanto en el servicio como en la tecnología son fundamentales, ya que estos han permitido adaptarse a los nuevos cambios en el servicio en la hotelería, además de la eficiencia que generan en sus operaciones.As a result of COVID-19, the hotel sector has had to change and implement innovations to continue its activities normally, thus adapting to this great change generated by the pandemic. However, some innovations are currently being implemented in accordance with the new demands of the guests, since there is still a percentage of the population that fears the spread of COVID-19. The objective of this research is to describe the new innovations that are being applied in 4 and 5 star hotels in different countries. In this research, the integrative literature review methodology was applied, since its main purpose is the compilation of scientific articles, books and theses. As a result, it was obtained that innovations in both service and technology are fundamental, since these have allowed adaptation to new changes in hotel service, in addition to the efficiency they generate in their operations.
