A raíz del confinamiento originado por la pandemia que apareció con el COVID-19, la industria del gaming ha sufrido un considerable incremento en la actividad y cantidad de jugadores. El encierro motivó a muchas personas a encontrar nuevas maneras para desestresarse, distraerse y buscar nuevas formas de entretenimiento en un contexto muy difícil. Los juegos tipo MOBA, que ya poseían una popularidad importante antes de la pandemia, crecieron en audiencia y usuarios. League of Legends, el cual es un videojuego que cuenta con una gran fanaticada en regiones como Asia, Europa y/o Latinoamérica, es ejemplo de ello, ya que viene amasando éxito desde su salida en el año 2009. Esto es porque su compañía de desarrollo norteamericana, Riot Games, vio la situación y sacó el mayor provecho aplicando distintas estrategias de comunicación que sirve para mantener contentos a los jugadores más veteranos y atraer nuevos usuarios a su mundo.As a result of the confinement caused by the pandemic that appeared with COVID-19, the gaming industry has suffered a considerable increase in activity and number of players. The confinement motivated many people to find new ways to de-stress, distract themselves and seek new forms of entertainment in a difficult context. MOBA-type games, which already had significant popularity before the pandemic, grew in audience and users. League of Legends, which is a video game that has a large fan base in regions such as Asia, Europe and/or Latin America, is an example of this, since it has been amassing success since its release in 2009. This is because its North American development company, Riot Games, saw the situation and made the most of it by applying different communication strategies that serve to keep older players happy and attract inexperienced users to their world.
