La cobertura periodística de la plataforma web del diario El Comercio sobre la pandemia por covid-19 en el Perú

Abstract

El surgimiento del Sars-CoV-2 y la consecuente pandemia por COVID-19 repercutió en diferentes aspectos de la sociedad. Uno de los sectores que se vio transformado por esta crisis sanitaria fueron los medios de comunicación, quienes no solo vieron restricciones en su trabajo periodístico, sino en el tipo de información especializada en salud que debían realizar. Dada la carencia de periodistas con experiencia en esta materia, esto representó un reto para la correcta difusión de dicho contenido.

Por otro lado, esto sucedió en un contexto de globalización y avance tecnológico en el cual el Internet y las plataformas digitales son partes cada vez más importantes para la sociedad. De esta forma, la mayoría de medios de comunicación iniciaron progresivamente, desde hace algún tiempo, la migración a la virtualidad, la cual presenta muchas ventajas, pero también factores negativos a tomar en consideración. Por ello, en el presente trabajo de investigación se analizará la cobertura periodística de la plataforma web del diario El Comercio sobre la pandemia por COVID-19 en el Perú.

The upcoming of the Sars-CoV-2 and the pandemic for COVID-19 that followed, affected affected different aspects of society. One of the fields that was transformed by this health crisis was the media, who not only saw restrictions in their journalistic work, but also in the type of specialized health information they had to produce. Given the lack of journalists with experience in this matter, this represented a challenge for the correct distribution of said content.

On the other hand, this happened in a context of globalization and technological progress in which the Internet and digital platforms are increasingly important parts of society. In this way, most of the media began progressively, for some time now, the migration to virtuality, which has many advantages, but also negative factors to be taken into consideration. Therefore, in this research work, the journalistic coverage of the web platform of the newspaper El Comercio on the COVID-19 pandemic in Peru will be analyzed.
