Centro turístico en Marcahuasi

Abstract

A 84 kilómetros de la ciudad de Lima se encuentra Marcahuasi, una meseta de 4 kilometros cuadrados ubicada en la Cordillera de los Andes a más de 4000 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Conocida como destino turístico por su paisaje e historia desde mediados de siglo XX gracias a las investigaciones y publicaciones de Daniel Ruzo.

Actualmente, debido al crecimiento de demanda turística en la zona y la escacez de instalaciones para los visitantes, el lugar se ve deteriorado y sucio. La falta de conciencia ambiental del turista y el poco apoyo del estado en su conservación, ocasionan la necesidad de implementar un centro turístico que permita hospedar e indicar al visitante sobre como cuidar el entorno, orientarlo, y enseñarle la historia y valor del lugar. El proyecto propone un hotel orientado al turismo que busca conectarse con la naturaleza, relacionarse con el paisaje, flora y fauna local. Asimismo, el proyecto contará con un centro de interpretación capaz de introducir Marcahuasi a los visitantes y darles un mejor entendimiento del lugar. La meseta tiene una topografía muy particular así que se aplicará el énfasis de mímesis1 para adaptar el edificio, dándole al proyecto un carácter que no se encontraría en ningún otro entorno.

Marcahausi is located 8.4 kilometers from the city of Lima, is a plateau of 4 square kilometers located in the Andes mountain range at more than 4000 meters above sea level. Known as a tourism destination for its landscape and history since the mid-twentieth century thanks to the research and publications of Daniel Ruzo.

Currently, due to the growth of tourism demand in the area and the shortage of facilities for visitors, the place is deteriorated and dirty. The lack of environmental awareness of the tourists and the poor support of the state in its conservation cause the need to implement a tourist center that hosts and indicate the visitors on how to take care of the environment, guide, and teach the history and value of the place. The project proposes a hotel oriented to tourists looking for connect with nature, relate to the landscape, local flora and fauna. Likewise the project includes a interpretation center capable of introduce Marcahuasi to the visitors and giving them a better understanding of it. The plateau has a very particular topography so we will apply the emphasis of mimesis2 to adapt the building, giving the project a unique local character.
