Percepción de infidelidad en jóvenes adultos limeños que han sido infieles

Abstract

El objetivo de esta investigación fue describir la percepción de la infidelidad de jóvenes adultos de Lima que han cometido este acto. Se realizó una investigación cualitativa de enfoque fenomenológico. Se aplicaron entrevistas semi-estructuradas a 11 participantes de Lima Metropolitana (9 hombres y 2 mujeres) entre 25 y 39 años, que hayan mantenido dos o más relaciones sentimentales y con más de un año de duración. Los resultados afirman que los participantes coinciden en considerar la infidelidad como repudiable y perjudicial. Asimismo, expresan que la han experimentado como una relación paralela o un encuentro casual, debido a un aburrimiento en la relación o una búsqueda de sensaciones. También se reveló que algunos participantes sienten culpa luego de haberla cometido, mientras que otros se muestran indiferentes. Además, concordaron en la existencia de la infidelidad sexual, emocional y cyber, pero le atribuyen distintas características a cada una. Algunos cambiaron su percepción luego de ser víctimas de una infidelidad, otros afirman que la perdonarían y hay quienes no podrían continuar la relación. En conclusión, algunos participantes formaron distintas percepciones sobre la infidelidad de acuerdo a lo vivido, mientras que otros mantuvieron la misma idea. Por último, existiría una incongruencia en el sentir, pensar y actuar de ciertos participantes en cuanto a la infidelidad, ya que a pesar de pensar que es algo deplorable, aún así la cometen.

The objective of this research was to describe the perception of infidelity among young adults in Lima who have committed this act. A qualitative research with a phenomenological approach was carried out. Semi-structured interviews were used with 11 participants from Metropolitan Lima (9 men and 2 women) between 25 and 39 years old, who had had two or more romantic relationships and lasted more than a year. The results affirm that the participants agree in considering infidelity as repudiable and harmful. Likewise, they express that they have experienced it as a parallel relationship or a casual encounter, due to a boredom in the relationship or a search for sensations. It was also revealed that some participants feel guilty after having committed it, while others are indifferent. In addition, they agreed on the existence of sexual, emotional and cyber infidelity, but attributed different characteristics to each one. Some changed their perception after being victims of infidelity, others affirm that they would forgive her and there are those who could not continue the relationship. In conclusion, some participants formed different perceptions about infidelity according to what they experienced, while others maintained the same idea. Finally, there would be an inconsistency in the feelings, thoughts and actions of certain participants regarding infidelity, since despite thinking that it is something deplorable, they still commit it.
