Development plan for the Ciclea application that will optimize the cyclist experience in Metropolitan LimaAbstract
The purpose of the following academic project aims to analyze the viability of Ciclea, a business idea that is based on a digital business model. The project consists of a mobile application directed for professional and amateur cyclists, as well as for individuals who depend on a bicycle as their primary source of transportation. Consequently, Ciclea’s main purpose is to deliver gratifying experiences that inspire freedom, safety and ease of transportation, therefore, it seeks to build a collaborative, empowered and active community. The proposal of the business model and idea has been validated through in-depth research and examination through different extensive experiments that allow us to confirm the viability, and the preferences of the users themselves. Given this, a high-fidelity mockup app prototype was developed, which has allowed us to verify that, the services we offer are valuable to the consumers, the design and interface of the app is to the liking of the users as well as the practicality of the interactions made inside the app. In addition, the different bike workshops and bike friendly establishments have been contacted and validated through a collaboration proposal, as they represent a crucial activity as key partners. In addition, through a complete financial analysis and the realization of a three year forecast, it has been possible to obtain the economic and financial results of the project, in which the economic net present value is S/410,217 and the Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC=8.71%) is smaller than the Internal Rate of Return (IRR=116%).
