Development of a model that uses Lean Manufacturing tools to reduce non-compliance with delivery time in a SME company in the footwear sectorAbstract
The footwear sector is one of the main manufacturing groups that generates the highest profits for the world economy. Within this activity, SMEs represent 88% of all companies and are those entities that are currently experiencing difficulties with respect to fulfilling orders on time. The Lean manufacturing methodology offers a range of tools that allow the elimination of waste, which is the cause of delays in the footwear sector. That is why this research work proposes a PDCA model for the application of lean Manufacturing tools. This through change management, application of 5S, Kaizen and visual control and implementation of the TPM. The final results show how the proposal reduces the takt time by 75.5%, decreases the defect and rework index by 63.44%, thus allowing the OTIF level to be increased to 93.62%. With which it is shown that the model solves the problem of non-compliance in the delivery of the order.
