El registro audiovisual para preservar la memoria y cultura: El análisis del documental “Mercado”

Abstract

En este trabajo de investigación se busca analizar cómo el material audiovisual es una herramienta de preservación de la cultura y la memoria social. Para ello, se tomará como caso de estudio el largometraje documental “Mercado” de la productora enfocada en la preservación cultural “Yapa”. Para realizar un análisis pertinente del desarrollo de este proyecto, por un lado, se deberá primero estudiar la importancia del registro audiovisual como herramienta de preservación y como este permite conservar las historias, cultura y prácticas sociales. Por otro lado, el concepto de memoria social permitirá entender cómo esta se construye y su importancia para un grupo cultural. Es así, mediante el acercamiento al audiovisual, que se busca reafirmar la importancia del registro audiovisual como un medio para preservar la cultura y memoria social en el caso del documental “Mercado” sobre el mercado San Camilo en Arequipa, Perú.

This research seeks to analyze how audiovisual material is a tool for the preservation of culture and social memory. For this, the documentary feature film "Mercado" of the production company focused on cultural preservation "Yapa" will be taken as a case study. In order to carry out a pertinent analysis of the development of this project, on the one hand, the importance of audiovisual registration as a tool of preservation must first be studied and as this allows the preservation of histories, culture and social practices. On the other hand, the concept of social memory will make it possible to understand how it is constructed and its importance for a cultural group. Thus, through the approach to the audiovisual, which seeks to reaffirm the importance of audiovisual registration as a medium to preserve culture and social memory in the case of the documentary "Mercado" on the San Camilo market in Arequipa, Peru.
