Effect of an Intervention Program on Parental Skills in parents of a preschool institution in LimaAbstract
El objetivo de la investigación es conocer la efectividad de un programa de intervención de competencias parentales. Para ello, los participantes fueron padres de familia de entre 25 y 47 años de niños en edad preescolar. Dentro de la muestra, se encontraron que el 72.7% son mujeres y el 27.3% son hombres; asimismo, el 36.4% están casados, el 22.7% solteros, y el 40.9% entre comprometidos, separados y divorciados. Se utilizó la Escala de Competencia Parental Percibida versión padres validada en el Perú, Como parte de los resultados principales, a nivel descriptivo se observa que la media de los puntajes tuvo un incremento. Además, se utilizó la d y r de Cohen para conocer el tamaño del efecto. Se apreció que para las tres dimensiones las medias de los puntajes incrementaron, Asunción de rol y dedicación de los padres 3.16 a 3.42, implicación escolar, de 3.27 a 3.51; y Orientación y ocio compartido, 2.91 a 3.26, en los cuales hubo un aumento de tamaño moderado. Por último, la estructura de esta intervención puede ser aplicada para padres con hijos en diversas etapas evolutivas.The current investigation has as objective to know the effectiveness of a program of intervention of parental competitions. For this, the participants were parents of between 25 and 47 years of preschool children. Within the sample, it was found that 72.7% are women and 27.3% are men; likewise, 36.4% are married and 22.7% are single, and. 40.9% among others. The Perceived Parental Competence Scale, the parent version validated in Peru, was used, which was applied to the participants before the start of the program and at the end of it. As part of the main results, at descriptive level it is observed that the mean of the scores increases significantly. In addition, the Cohen d and r were used to know the effect size. It was appreciated that for the three dimensions Assumption of role and dedication of the parents from 3.16 to 3.42, School involvement, 3.27 to 3.51 and Orientation and shared leisure, 2.91 to 3.26 there was a significant change of moderate size. Finally, the structure of this intervention can be applied to parents with children in various stages of evolution.
