Application of Lean Manufacturing Techniques in a Peruvian Plastic CompanyCitation
Poves Calderón, I. G. (2020). Retrieved from DOI:https://doi.org/10.19083/tesis/648692Resumen
The following article analyzes the problem of non-fulfillment of orders in a company that produces plastic sheets. The main reason that causes the problem are the high unproductive times during the extrusion process, these times decrease the index of the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). In order to tackle the main cause, an innovative proposal is presented, this proposal uses a systematic approach and combines the SMED and Preventive Maintenance techniques of the Lean Manufacturing methodology, with the aim of reducing unproductive times to improve the OEE index. To validate the effectiveness of the proposal, the systems were simulated using Arena Simulation Software and Input Analyzer, in order to determine the reduction of unproductive times. The final result showed that the proposal reduces in 36.37% the unproductive times and improves the OEE index by 9.02%, this corroborates the achievement of the objective of the project, which was to maximize the efficiency of the process and reduce the total time of the extrusion process, which will allow the company to fulfill the orders in order to avoid losses in profits.
