Learning Styles and Emotional Intelligence in leaders of Arca Continental LindleyAbstract
La presente investigación busca determinar la relación existente entre los Estilos de Aprendizaje e Inteligencia Emocional en los líderes de la empresa Arca Continental Lindley. Por ello, se ha seleccionado una muestra de 90 líderes (gerentes y jefes) sin discriminar edad ni tiempo de permanencia en la empresa. Para este estudio se utilizó el instrumento de Inventario de Estilos de Aprendizaje de Kolb e Inventario de Cociente Emocional de Bar-On (I-CE) para evaluar Inteligencia Emocional. Posteriormente se realizó el procesamiento de datos haciendo uso del programa estadístico SPSS versión 22. En cuanto a los resultados se obtuvo que el estilo de aprendizaje predominante en los líderes es el Estilo Convergente. También se encontró que los líderes poseen una Inteligencia Emocional General dentro del promedio, sin embargo, en las escalas de Asertividad y Control de Impulsos, su Capacidad Emocional es Baja. En relación a la escala de Empatía, se Capacidad Emocional es muy Baja. Se determinó que existe diferencias significativas entre los Estilos de Aprendizaje y el Subcomponente de Flexibilidad con 0.010, siendo los estilos divergente, convergente y asimilador los que más impactan en este subcomponente.Abstrac: This research seeks to determine the relationship between learning styles and emotional intelligence in Lindley Continental Ark company leaders. Therefore, a sample of 90 leaders (managers and bosses) was selected without discriminating the age or time spent in the company. For this study, the Kolb Learning Styles Inventory and Bar-On Emotional Quotient (I-CE) instrument was used to assess Emotional Intelligence. Subsequently, data processing was performed using the statistical program SPSS version 22. Regarding the results, it was obtained that the predominant learning style in the leaders is the convergent style. It was also found that leaders possess a general emotional Intelligence within the average, however, on the assertiveness and impulse control scales, their emotional capacity is low. In relation to the empathy scale, emotional capacity is very low. It was determined that there are significant differences between learning styles and the flexibility subcomponent with 0.010, with divergent, convergent and assimilating styles being the ones that most impact this subcomponent.
