El objetivo de este estudio fue establecer la asociación entre el trastorno de ansiedad por separación y el autoconcepto en un grupo de niños de 8 a11 años edad, provenientes de hogares con padres separados (madre o padre está fuera de casa). Se seleccionó la muestra con un total de 152 participantes (hombres y mujeres), que se encontraban cursando estudios en colegios privados, mixtos, entre tercero y sexto grado de primaria. El enfoque empleado para la presente investigación fue de tipo cuantitativo y el diseño transversal del tipo correlacional. Los resultados indicaron relación directa entre ambas variables. Estudio reveló nuevos indicadores y la importancia de profundizar más en esta línea.The objective of this study was to establish the association between separation anxiety disorder and self-concept in a group of children aged 8 to 11 years, from households with separated parents (mother or father is away from home). The sample was selected with a total of 152 participants (men and women), who are studying in private and mixed schools, between third and sixth grade. The approach used for the present research is of quantitative type and the cross-sectional design of the correlational type. The results indicated a direct relationship between both variables. Study reveals new indicators and the importance of delving deeping into this line.
